Senior Josh Adkins jumped 6’0″ at the High School Meet #4 at Oberlin College on Sunday 2/28.  This jump sets a new indoor PR and ties his all-time PR for the event.

Josh’s performance is tied for the 6th best performance this year in indoor meets athletes in Divisions 2 & 3.  The top 18 jumpers qualify for the OATCCC Indoor State Championsips!

Game Recap

The Lady Cards completed a brutal 3 games in 3 days stretch Thursday night losing to Wellington 34-11. Payton Regal, who had 2 points in the first meeting between the two teams popped in 12 points to lead the Lady Dukes. McKenna Stump had 4 points to lead the Cardinal scoring. Still missing key players, the Cardinals Maddie Nail stepped up and was ferocious on defense and looks to help the team build on it for the final regular season game next Tuesday at South Amherst.

Game Recap

In the second game of three games in three nights, the Lady Cards lost a heart-breaker to Black River 16-12. The Pirates built an 8-4 halftime lead but the Cards came back to tie it at 10-all at the end of the third. The Cards missed numerous scoring opportunities as the shots would not fall but they put up a valiant defensive effort. Maddie Nail and Brooke Zakutny got into the score books with a basket each. The girls travel to Wellington Thursday to complete this grueling 3 game stretch.

The Cardinals played very hard and very physically as a unit to grit out a win against Black River in their home finale. The 8th grade Cards now finish with a winning record at home for the year. Defense carried the day, as the Cardinals allowed only 2 points in the second half. Offensively, Lauren Sheehan had a big game with 11 points. Jelene Williams really got her game going in the second half and finished with 5 points. Lucia Morello and Miranda Rothman rounded things out with 2 points each.

The Lady Cards hosted Buckeye last night to begin 3 games in 3 days this week. Buckeye won 39-6. The Lady Cards were missing two key players and the shortened rotation was unable to keep up with the Bucks. McKenna Stump led the Cards with 4 points. The team hosts Black River tonight to makeup last week’s game postponed by weather. It is the last home game so come out and cheer on your Lady Cards!

The Lady Cards hosted the Keystone Wildcats last Wednesday in PAC regular season play losing 39-17. Sarah Torres led the team with 15 points. Keystone’s Whitacre led the Wildcats with 13. The Cards play a tough back-to-back-to-back next week Tuesday through Thursday.

The cards took 5th overall at the Northeast Ohio Sectional Wrestling Tournament held at Brookside over the weekend.  Qualifying for the Cardinals to the District Tournament this Friday at Fostoria High School are:  Brad Huhn 2nd place, Cody Nusbaum 4th place, David Ocasio 2nd, Chas Jackson 2nd, Jacob Stoehr 4th, Anthony Chambers 3rd, and our champion GREG PACKARD who ups his overall record to 42-1.
