In a game that was closer than the final score indicated, the 7th grade girls fell to South Amherst last night in the opening round of the PAC tournament. As has been the case all season, the Cardinals’ stellar defense kept another opponent below their scoring average but could not close the deal on the offensive side of the ball. Rough physical play led to turnovers for both teams with the Falcons making the most of their opportunities. The Cards, already having 2 players out and 2 more sick, had to dig deep in pressing nearly the entire 4th to close the gap to 14-10 before the Falcons closed the game out with the final 7 points. Alexis Powell led the Cards with 6 points and Savannah Dixon and Brianna Deleon each added 2. The team is looking forward to making strides offensively next year as they hope to reverse 4 losses by 5 points or less this season. The team thanks all of the parents, students and staff that came to cheer them on this season.
