The Cards were hoping to bounce back on Thursday against the Wildcats of Keystone but the shots did not drop as the Wildcats held on late for a 19-14 victory. The Cards got off to a slow start as shots near the basket could not find the mark despite open looks. Fortunately, the Cardinal defense held on and kept them within striking distance in the second half. They were able to break through in the 3rd period as Zuriah Radeff-Koonce scored 5 points to draw the Cards to within 4 at the end of the 3rd. The team tightened the screws in the 4th as they were able to force turnovers leading to a Brianna Deleon bucket that brought the Cards to within 1 at 14-15 with less than 2 minutes remaining. The Wildcats were able to score on a couple of defensive miscues by the Cards to widen the lead to 5 as the horn sounded. Radeff-Koonce led the Cards with 7 points and Brooke Dobbins added 3. The team will play 3 games in 4 nights next week beginning with a visit to Buckeye on Monday.
